Filing an Automatically Generated Answer

  1. Log into PAAB’s e-Filing system.
  2. Click Existing Appeals or eFile>Existing Appeal from menu bar.
  3. Enter Docket Number (ex. 2015-077-1500A) into the text box and click eFile.
  4. Select BOARD OF REVIEW ANSWER (AUTO GENERATE) from the Document Type drop-down menu.  
  5. Click Add and then click Next.  
  6. The populated page collects data that will be used to automatically generate a document that can be filed.
    • ​First, select who will be representing the Board of Review in this appeal. 
      • The Assessor
        • Select the Assessor from the drop-down menu. To more quickly find the name you're looking for, type the first few letters of the person's first name. 
      • The County Attorney
        • Select the County Attorney from the drop-down list. To more quickly find the name you're looking for, type the first few letters of the person's first name. Note: The Attorney will need to have an eFile account. If they do not have an eFile account, they will need to request one. 
      • Add Attorney
        • If the Board of Review will be represented by attorney that is not in the County Attorney's office, select the "Add Attorney" option and select their name from the drop-down list. Note: The Attorney will need to have an eFile account. If they do not have an eFile account, they will need to request one. 
    • Board of Review Appearance
      • If the taxpayer requested a PAAB hearing, indicate if the board of review will participate in the hearing in person at PAAB's office, by telephone conference call, or if the Board of Review will not participate in the hearing at all.  
    • Timely to Board of Review
      • Indicate if the board of review believes the taxpayer timely filed a protest to the board of review.
    • Timely to PAAB
      • Indicate if the board of review believes the taxpayer's protest to PAAB was timely. 
    • Board of Review Total Assessment
      • Indicate the subject property's total assessed value after the board of review. 
  7. When complete, click Next
  8. The system will automatically generate a document based on the data entered on the prior page. To view the filing, click on "View Generated Document." Confirm the information is correct, and proceed to the next step.
  9. You may now add other documents to your filing, if you wish. Follow the instructions for adding other documents
  10. After all desired documents are added, click Next
  11. On the Review and Approve Filing page, verify that all desired documents are ready to be submitted. You may also add any special filing instructions on this page. When finished, click Submit the Filing.
