The Board of Review may follow these steps to create an auto-generated Answer in eFile.

Log Into eFile

Log into eFile.

Select Existing Appeal

Click Existing Appeals or eFile>Existing Appeal from menu bar.

Enter Docket Number (ex. 2023-077-1500A) into the text box and click eFile.

Select Board of Review Answer (Auto-generate)

Select Board of Review Answer (Auto-generate) from the Document Type drop-down menu.

The populated page collects data that will be used to automatically generate a document that can be filed.

  1. Representation: Select who will be representing the Board of Review in this appeal. 
    • Assessor: Select the Assessor from the drop-down menu. To more quickly find the name you're looking for, type the first few letters of the person's first name. 
    • County Attorney: Select the County Attorney from the drop-down list. To more quickly find the name you're looking for, type the first few letters of the person's first name. 
      • The Attorney will need to have an eFile account. If they do not have an eFile account, they will need to request one. 
    • Other Attorney: If the Board of Review will be represented by attorney that is not in the County Attorney's office, select "Add Attorney" option and select their name from the drop-down list. 
      • The Attorney will need to have an eFile account. If they do not have an eFile account, they will need to request one. 
  2. Appearance/Method of Participation
    • If the taxpayer requested a PAAB hearing, indicate how the Board of Review plans to participate in the hearing.
      • in person at PAAB's office,
      • by telephone conference call,
      • by video/online using Google Meet,
      • or if the Board of Review will not participate in the hearing at all.  
  3. Timeliness
    • Indicate if the board of review believes the taxpayer timely filed a protest to the board of review.
    • Indicate if the board of review believes the taxpayer's appeal to PAAB was timely. 
  4. Board of Review Total Assessment
    • Indicate the subject property's total assessed value after the board of review. 

When complete, click Next

The system will automatically generate a document based on the data entered on the prior page. To view the filing, click on "View Generated Document." Confirm the information is correct, and proceed to the next step.

Add Additional Documents

Add any additional documents to the filing, as desired. 

All eFiled documents must be saved as PDFs. If you need help, find out how to save documents as PDF

  • Select the Document Type (i.e. Motion, Taxpayer Exhibit, etc.) from the drop-down menu. If you are unsure of which document type to use, please refer to the eFile Document Guide.
  • Add Additional Text if necessary.
    • For example: enter an exhibit number or letter as additional text; enter the name of a motion as addition text; etc.
  • Click Browse/Choose File to find the document on your computer.
  • Click Add.
    • You can view the document by clicking on the document name in the “View Document” column.
    • If you added the wrong document, click on the document icon in the “Remove” column.

Repeat "Add Documents" steps to add additional documents to one filing before moving on to the next step. 

  • When you are finished adding documents to the filing, click Next. You can also go Back, or Move to Draft

Review & Approve Filing

Verify that all desired documents are ready to be submitted. You may also add any special filing instructions on this page. When finished, click Submit the Filing.
